ABOUT ME:
Past, Present and Potential Prospects

Dedicated, Resourceful and Determined are values
that I carry with me in all my endeavors.
With an early interest and creativity in the floral space,
I came to a point where I knew it was my future.
I like to think of my career as a holistic learning experience that
continuously evolves with each project and collaboration.
I'm curious for what’s ahead of the curve and
I keep my work practical, relevant and innovative.
Have a look at my past projects, and feel free to reach out with any questions.
• THE ROAD SO FAR •
The journey into floristry was embedded as a seed at a pretty early stage of life...
Every weekend I would receive a request from mum to "go make a posy for me will you?". In addition to wandering through my suburban childhood garden tenderly caring for plants with dad, this set a foundation for a rich appreciation of nature, and particularly to flowers.
Fast forward 10 years - my partner's family owned a rose farm (Tyabb Roses)
and were in the wedding industry.
Floristry kept making itself known in significant places of my life.
Now, a further 10 years later after study and employment within science industry,
I couldn't escape the peace, calm and escape that working with flowers allowed
(not to mention the joy it meant sharing with others).
Even the high-pace demand of delivering products by a deadline resonates with me,
and I take each successive challenge in stride.
Passions long established in my youth, reinforced in my 20s, and reignited after becoming a mother - I knew it was time to make a move to something more than "dabbling".
This led to studying at Thrive Flower School in 2023. The Complete Floristry Career Change course is based on the Bloom College Curriculum, with exposure to every aspect of floristry and the eco-minded changes to make it a more sustainable practice. I was introduced to all the behind the scenes of the Floral Industry. Cold market mornings, tours of local growers, tedious calculations for pricing and making, unmaking, and then remaking all my work. The head of the school, Alyssa, injected every lesson with enthusiasm for creating products at the highest quality for customers, and impressed the importance to make changes that would encourage a more sustainable industry.
The overwhelming behind-the-scenes that goes into floristry, and particularly the events space,
was more than I'd conceived, but this has only fueled my passion for the vocation.
Now, here I am, continually learning, developing and honing my skills to create products,
keeping practices relating to sustainability at the fore-front of my mind.
